Your Lanka Safe Tours representative meets you at Katunayake International Airport. Transfer to your beach-town hotel in Negombo — a gentle first night before the expedition begins.
Scenic morning drive northwest through Sri Lanka's dry zone to Wilpattu National Park — the island's largest and most mysterious wilderness.
Full-day grand safari through Wilpattu's legendary villus (natural lakes) and dense scrub forest. Prime territory for sloth bears, leopards, elephants, and 200+ bird species.
Dawn safari at Minneriya to witness "The Gathering" — hundreds of elephants converging at the ancient tank. Afternoon transfer to Sigiriya base.
Pre-dawn climb of Pidurangala Rock for panoramic sunrise views over Sigiriya. Afternoon visit to Hiriwaduna village — experience authentic rural Sri Lankan life.
Climb the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress at first light. Visit the 2,000-year-old Dambulla Cave Temple. Evening arrival in Kandy — Sri Lanka's cultural capital.

A breathtaking drive through tea country — visit the Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya, a living tea plantation and factory, then arrive in misty Nuwara Eliya.
Early morning trek through Horton Plains' ethereal highland plateau to World's End — an 880m sheer cliff drop. Route through Ella city to Tissamaharama base.
The crown jewel of the expedition — a full-day jeep safari in Yala National Park. The world's highest leopard density means sightings are nearly guaranteed. Every turn is a new encounter.
Transfer to Udawalawe and into the park for a dedicated elephant safari. With 100+ elephants roaming freely year-round, intimate close encounters are all but certain.
Deep into the primeval Sinharaja Rainforest — one of the world's great biodiversity hotspots. Trek through dripping canopy to find endemic species found nowhere else on Earth.
Emerge from the rainforest and head to the sun-drenched south coast. Mirissa welcomes with its iconic Coconut Tree Hill, vibrant harbour and fresh seafood market.
Board a vessel at dawn for the expedition's unforgettable finale — whale watching in the deep blue. Blue whales, sperm whales and spinner dolphins frequent these warm Indian Ocean waters.
The expedition ends. Transfer to Colombo or Katunayake International Airport — carrying 15 days of wild memories that will last a lifetime.
